The role

Summary

Cohere is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Forward Deployed Engineering team in the EMEA region, focusing on deploying enterprise AI infrastructure. The ideal candidate will drive technical implementations, mentor a team of engineers, and play a critical role in scaling Cohere's North platform across customer environments.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers across the EMEA region, providing strategic guidance and professional development
Platform Deployment: Drive end-to-end deployment of Cohere's North platform in private cloud and on-premises enterprise environments
Customer Success: Take full ownership of customer technical implementations from initial engagement through final delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to optimize AI platform delivery strategies
Infrastructure Optimization: Optimize performance for cloud services including OpenSearch, databases, and Kubernetes services
Resource Scaling: Define and implement scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources to support enterprise AI deployments

Cloud InfrastructureExtensive experience with major cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP
ContainerizationAdvanced knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
Enterprise DeploymentProven experience deploying enterprise software at significant scale

Education

Advanced DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Leadership ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated team leadership
Management ExperienceExperience managing engineering teams in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments
