The role

Summary

Confluent is seeking a Cloud Enablement Engineer to empower users and prospects with technical knowledge and skills for leveraging Kafka and Flink on Confluent Cloud. The role involves creating technical content, providing user guidance, and supporting the adoption of cloud streaming technologies through education and technical expertise.

What you'll do

Technical Content Development: Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented guides, code examples, and technical tutorials covering Confluent Cloud usage, setup, and integration scenarios

User Enablement: Host webinars, live coding sessions, and provide one-on-one technical support to help users successfully implement Confluent Cloud solutions

Community Engagement: Participate in community forums and social media platforms to share knowledge and engage with the Confluent technical community

Product Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to stay updated on Confluent Cloud features and best practices

What we look for

Technical

Programming ProficiencyStrong proficiency in Java, Python, or C/C++, with ability to independently develop, test, and publish high-quality code

Cloud InfrastructureExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Data Systems KnowledgeSolid understanding of distributed systems, streaming data architectures, and data processing frameworks

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

Technical Content CreationExperience in creating technical articles, tutorials, and webinars preferred

Apache Kafka2+ years of experience setting up and working with Apache Kafka is a plus

Cloud TechnologiesExpertise in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and distributed systems

ProgrammingStrong coding skills in Java, Python, or C/C++

Technical CommunicationAbility to explain complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly
