The role

Summary

Confluent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and manage the networking fabric for their cloud data streaming platform, focusing on high-performance, scalable network data plane systems for containerized workloads across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role requires 2-5 years of cloud infrastructure experience with strong expertise in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and programming languages like C++, Go, or Python.

What you'll do

Network Data Plane Development: Build and manage the software underpinning Confluent Cloud's mission-critical network data plane platform with focus on high performance, scalability, reliability and resilience
Complex Project Execution: Independently drive execution of software projects to deliver complex production systems with emphasis on quality and business impact
Open Source Integration: Build upon open source software components to deliver measurable business value and platform enhancements
Multi-Cloud Operations: Troubleshoot issues and improve operations for complex technical stack spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP including microservices, containers, and virtualization
System Design and Architecture: Design, develop and operationalize distributed systems for containerized workloads in cloud environments
