The role

Summary

Confluent is seeking a Software Engineer to build Golang-based infrastructure services for their cloud-native data streaming platform. The role focuses on developing Kubernetes operators and managing large-scale distributed systems across multiple cloud providers to support Confluent's Apache Kafka-based PaaS solution.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Services Development: Design, implement and maintain Golang infrastructure services, typically implemented as Kubernetes operators to deliver Confluent cloud foundations

Cloud Platform Operations: Manage provisioning, availability, performance, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of the Confluent cloud infrastructure

Large-Scale System Management: Oversee big data systems covering thousands of instances spread across thousands of Kubernetes clusters in multiple cloud providers

PaaS Product Development: Work alongside Confluent engineers to build and enhance the Platform as a Service product offering

Architecture and Design: Influence architecture and operational design decisions for the cloud-native streaming platform

Multi-Cloud Infrastructure: Ensure systems run smoothly and securely across AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud environments
