The role

Summary

Deel is seeking an experienced Back-End/Infra Engineer to join the Giger team, focusing on building and maintaining a powerful internal platform that enables rapid development and deployment of production-like environments. The ideal candidate will have advanced Kubernetes expertise, infrastructure engineering skills, and the ability to design scalable, efficient developer sandbox systems.

What you'll do

Sandbox Platform Development: Design and maintain the control plane for developer sandbox environments

Infrastructure Automation: Develop backend tooling to automate sandbox creation, orchestration, and lifecycle management

Cluster Management: Scale and optimize Kubernetes clusters for volatile workloads, implementing advanced scheduling and resource management strategies

Cost Optimization: Continuously track and optimize infrastructure costs across compute, storage, and data transfer

Networking and Observability: Implement and evolve networking and observability solutions for complex sandbox environments

What we look for

Technical

Kubernetes Expertise8+ years of experience with advanced Kubernetes configuration and management

Infrastructure EngineeringProven experience in Platform or Infrastructure Engineering

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred

Experience

Large-scale InfrastructureExperience managing Kubernetes clusters with 1000+ nodes and 30k+ pods

Cloud InfrastructureHands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Skills

Required skills

KubernetesAdvanced experience with Kubernetes, including creating tools, controllers, and operators

Cloud PlatformsExpertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud infrastructure

Backend TechnologiesStrong skills in Node.js, Go, or Python

Database ManagementExperience with Postgres and database systems

Distributed SystemsAbility to design and maintain large-scale distributed infrastructure
