The role

Summary

Poshmark is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the health, performance, and scalability of their complex web-scale systems. The ideal candidate will be an operations generalist who excels in automation, monitoring, and collaborative problem-solving within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving technology environment.

What you'll do

Service Health Management: Serve as the primary point of responsibility for the overall health, performance, and capacity of Internet-facing services
Application Deployment: Assist in rolling out and deploying new product features and installations to support rapid iteration and constant growth
Tooling Development: Develop tools to improve deployment capabilities and monitoring of custom applications in a large-scale UNIX environment
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to ensure platforms are designed with operational efficiency and scalability in mind
On-Call Support: Participate in a 12x7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous system reliability and rapid issue resolution

What we look for

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureProven experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
DevOps ToolsProficiency in continuous integration, configuration management, and monitoring tools
Scripting SkillsStrong ability to script and code for automation and system management

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Systems Engineering3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Operations, preferably in a startup or fast-growing company
Large-Scale Operations3+ years of experience in UNIX-based web operations and 12/7 production support

Skills

Required skills

Cloud TechnologiesExperience with AWS services like EC2, RDS, CloudFront, S3
DevOps ToolsProficiency in Terraform, Packer, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible
Monitoring ToolsExperience with Datadog, Nagios, New Relic, Graphite

Nice to have

Programming LanguagesAdvanced knowledge of Ruby, JavaScript, NodeJS
