The role

Summary

Poshmark is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the health, performance, and scalability of their complex web-scale systems. The ideal candidate will be an operations generalist with strong automation skills, capable of working closely with development teams to design, monitor, and improve large-scale production infrastructure.

What you'll do

System Health Management: Serve as the primary point of responsibility for the overall health, performance, and capacity of internet-facing services
Application Knowledge: Develop deep understanding of complex application architectures and infrastructure requirements
Deployment Support: Assist in rollout and deployment of new product features with a focus on rapid iteration and constant growth
Monitoring Tool Development: Create tools to improve deployment capabilities and monitoring of custom applications in large-scale UNIX environments
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to ensure platforms are designed with operational efficiency in mind
On-Call Participation: Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to support production environments

What we look for

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureProven experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
Configuration ManagementProficiency in tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins
Monitoring ToolsExperience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Nagios, New Relic, and Datadog
ScriptingStrong scripting and coding capabilities across various languages

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Systems Engineering4+ years of experience in Site Reliability or Systems Engineering, preferably in startup or fast-growing environments
Production Support4+ years of 24/7 support experience in large-scale production environments
UNIX Operations4+ years of experience in UNIX-based large-scale web operations

Skills

Required skills

Cloud InfrastructureHands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
DevOps ToolsProficiency in Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes
