Summary

Poshmark is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the health, performance, and scalability of their complex web-scale systems. The ideal candidate will be a proactive operations generalist who can work closely with development teams, automate infrastructure, and maintain robust, monitored production environments in a fast-paced, innovative fashion marketplace.

What you'll do

Service Health Management: Serve as the primary point of responsibility for the overall health, performance, and capacity of Internet-facing services
Application Deep Dive: Gain comprehensive understanding of complex application architectures and infrastructure requirements
Deployment and Feature Rollout: Assist in deploying new product features and installations to support rapid iteration and company growth
Tooling Development: Develop tools to improve deployment capabilities and monitoring in large-scale UNIX environments
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to ensure platforms are designed with operational excellence in mind
On-Call Support: Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to maintain system reliability and respond to production issues

What we look for

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureExtensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
Configuration ManagementProficiency in tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Packer
Monitoring ToolsExperience with monitoring and alerting systems like Nagios, New Relic, Datadog, and Graphite

Education

Computer Science/EngineeringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Systems Engineering4+ years of experience in Site Reliability or Systems Engineering, preferably in startup or fast-growing environments
Production Support4+ years of 24/7 support experience in large-scale production environments
UNIX Operations4+ years of experience in UNIX-based large-scale web operations

Skills

Required skills

Cloud TechnologiesHands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, RDS, CloudFront, S3
ScriptingProficiency in scripting and coding for infrastructure automation
DevOps ToolsExpertise in Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, and continuous integration tools
