The role

Summary

Ramp is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for their International Money Platform team to build critical global financial infrastructure. The role involves developing payment systems across multiple countries, designing multi-currency accounting solutions, and integrating with international banking rails while supporting Ramp's ambitious global expansion strategy.

What you'll do

Payment Infrastructure Development: Build robust payment systems that operate across multiple countries, currencies, and regulatory environments
Multi-Currency Accounting: Design and implement scalable multi-currency accounting and reconciliation systems
Banking Systems Integration: Integrate with international banking systems and payment rails including SEPA, BACS, and SWIFT
Market Expansion: Support both initial market launch (0-1) and scaling existing market operations (1-N)
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with compliance, product, operations, and external partners to navigate complex regional requirements

Technical

Backend Engineering5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience in high-scale production environments
Systems DesignStrong systems design skills with ability to develop reliable, maintainable solutions from ambiguous requirements
Distributed SystemsExpertise in distributed systems, performance optimization, and production reliability

Education

Computer Science/Engineering DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Production EnvironmentProven track record of working in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments with independent ownership
Cross-Functional CollaborationDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and external partners
