The role

Summary

Ramp is seeking a Production Engineering Software Engineer to build and operate critical infrastructure for their financial technology platform. The ideal candidate will be a full software engineer specializing in infrastructure, responsible for driving architectural changes, partnering with product teams, and enabling scalable, reliable systems that support Ramp's mission of transforming business finance operations.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Development: Build and operate critical infrastructure across compute, storage, messaging, and observability systems
Architectural Leadership: Drive transformative architectural changes with comprehensive problem-solving approaches
Cross-Team Enablement: Partner with product teams to review architectures and establish scalable engineering patterns
Reliability Engineering: Proactively identify and eliminate systemic infrastructure challenges
AI Infrastructure: Design and implement infrastructure patterns to support AI-powered product development

Education

Experience

Production Engineering2+ years of software engineering experience with critical systems infrastructure
Cross-Team CollaborationProven track record of leading technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams

Distributed SystemsHands-on experience with production-scale distributed systems architecture
Cloud InfrastructureExpertise with major cloud providers, preferably AWS
System ReliabilityStrong understanding of observability practices, SLOs, and infrastructure reliability
Software EngineeringAbility to write clean, well-tested, production-ready code
Technical LeadershipExperience leading technical projects end-to-end with cross-team coordination
