Summary

Replit is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Mobile team to lead the development of intuitive mobile experiences that democratize software creation. This hybrid role involves building and managing a team of mobile design engineers while defining technical strategy for mobile design systems across iOS, Android, and responsive web platforms.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and grow a team of mobile design engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and design craftsmanship

Technical Vision: Define the technical vision and strategy for mobile design systems, establishing frameworks and patterns that ship to production and scale across iOS, Android, and responsive web

Cross-functional Partnership: Partner closely with design, product, and engineering leadership to prioritize mobile initiatives and ensure seamless collaboration between design and development teams

Mobile-first Development: Drive best practices for mobile-first development, ensuring team builds production-grade patterns that deliver consistent, high-quality experiences while optimizing for performance

Architecture Oversight: Oversee the architecture of complex mobile UI components and systems, providing technical guidance and code review to maintain high standards

Accessibility Champion: Champion accessible, responsive interfaces through well-architected frameworks, and establish processes that improve mobile design-to-development workflow

Technical Contribution: Balance hands-on technical contribution with people management, staying close enough to the code to guide architectural decisions

Mobile Development ExpertiseDeep technical background with mobile development, including experience with mobile-specific web APIs, native mobile development (Swift/Kotlin), React and React Native

Production Framework ExperienceProven experience building production frameworks and component systems that scale across products

UI/UX Technical SkillsExperience with PWAs, mobile design patterns, and complex UI animations and gesture-based interactions
