Summary

Replit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Trust & Safety team, focusing on building advanced AI-powered detection systems to protect the platform from various cyber threats and abuse scenarios. The role involves designing innovative guardrails for AI-generated code, developing sophisticated threat detection mechanisms, and implementing automated response systems to maintain platform integrity.

What you'll do

LLM Guardrails: Design and implement detection systems for AI-generated code abuse scenarios

Threat Detection: Build AI-powered systems to identify and classify malicious patterns

Platform Security: Develop automated response mechanisms to enforce platform policies

Abuse Response: Own the full abuse response lifecycle from detection to enforcement

Data Analysis: Use BigQuery and Hex to analyze attack patterns and develop detection rules

Security Tool Maintenance: Maintain and extend internal detection tools for continuous monitoring

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Security Engineering8+ years of experience in security engineering, anti-abuse, trust & safety, or fraud detection

Threat DetectionProven track record of investigating and mitigating complex abuse patterns

PythonStrong programming skills for building detection systems and automation

TypeScriptProficiency in building detection and security systems

SQLExperience with data analysis and querying at scale

Machine LearningExperience building or fine-tuning ML/LLM-based classifiers for security detection

Security EngineeringExpertise in detecting and preventing platform abuse and cyber threats

Nice to have

Fraud DetectionBackground in payment abuse or financial crime prevention

CI/CD SecurityExperience with security tooling like SAST, SCA, Dependabot, Snyk
