Role

What you'll do.

Senior Software Engineer at UiPath focusing on AI-native migration tooling and agentic AI development. You'll design and build scalable migration products that leverage coding agents and AI-assisted development to automate customer data, configuration, and workflow transitions onto the UiPath platform. Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop AI-Native Migration Products: Architect and engineer AI-native migration solutions that enable customers to transfer data, configurations, and workflows onto the UiPath platform with minimal manual intervention. Focus on creating intelligent systems that learn from each migration instance and improve pattern recognition and automation capabilities.
  • Leverage Coding Agents for Accelerated Development: Utilize coding agents and AI-assisted development tools to expedite migration workflow development, from scaffolding migration scripts to generating and validating complex transformation logic. Integrate these agent-powered capabilities directly into product workflows to increase development velocity and reduce time-to-market.
  • Integrate Agentic AI Capabilities into Core Product: Embed coding agent harnesses into the migration product to assist with overall process orchestration, enable customer-specific customizations, and support automated testing and validation frameworks. Ensure seamless integration of AI-assisted features while maintaining system reliability and performance.
  • Extract Migration Requirements and Identify Edge Cases: Deploy business analysis agents to comprehensively analyze customer environments, extract detailed migration requirements, and proactively surface edge cases and potential blockers before they impact timelines. Document findings to inform product improvements and prevent future issues.
  • Translate Insights into Reusable Product Capabilities: Transform learnings from individual customer migrations into generalized, reusable product features including migration patterns, templates, and automation frameworks. Build a scalable foundation that extends beyond single-customer use cases and serves the broader UiPath ecosystem.
  • Collaborate Across Engineering and Product Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams throughout UiPath to design robust system architecture, engineer critical product components, and align technical implementations with product vision. Facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure coordinated development across platform services and migration capabilities.
  • Ensure Quality, Security, and Scalability Standards: Deliver technical solutions that meet rigorous quality, security, scalability, modifiability, extensibility, and testability requirements. Implement comprehensive testing strategies, security hardening practices, and performance optimization to support enterprise-grade deployments and customer success.
  • Establish AI-Assisted Engineering Practices: Lead the adoption of effective and agile engineering practices that incorporate AI-assisted and agentic development methodologies into team workflows. Mentor team members on leveraging coding agents effectively, establishing best practices, and maintaining code quality standards in an AI-augmented development environment.
  • Identify and Resolve Technical Bottlenecks: Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, architectural constraints, and critical bugs affecting migration product quality and customer experience. Design and implement targeted solutions that address root causes, improve system resilience, and enhance overall product reliability.
  • Plan Feature Development and Engineering Roadmap: Contribute to strategic planning of feature development initiatives, design system components that support future scalability, and help shape the engineering roadmap. Balance technical debt management with new feature development to maintain product velocity and long-term sustainability.
  • Maintain Code Quality and Automation Standards: Champion code quality initiatives by establishing coding standards, implementing automated testing frameworks, and ensuring consistent code organization. Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines, code reviews, and technical documentation practices across the migration tooling team.

Technical

  • 6+ Years Software Engineering Experience

    Demonstrated expertise in professional software development across multiple product cycles, with proficiency in designing scalable systems, managing technical complexity, and delivering production-grade code. Experience should span full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, architecture design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

  • High-Level Programming Languages (C#, Java, Python, Rust)

    Intermediate to advanced proficiency in at least one high-level programming language such as C#, Java, Python, or Rust. Strong ability to write efficient, maintainable code and leverage language-specific frameworks and libraries. Experience with multiple languages is a significant advantage for understanding language-agnostic design patterns.

  • Object-Oriented Programming and Architectural Design Patterns

    Strong command of OOP principles including encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and composition. Practical experience applying architectural patterns such as MVC, MVP, Dependency Injection, Strategy, Factory, and Observer patterns. Ability to design systems that are maintainable, extensible, and follow SOLID principles.

  • Multithreading and Asynchronous Programming

    Advanced understanding of concurrent programming models, thread synchronization mechanisms, mutex/lock implementations, and event-driven architectures. Experience with async/await patterns, task-based parallelism, and handling race conditions. Ability to design responsive applications that efficiently utilize system resources.

  • Data Structures and Algorithms

    Deep knowledge of fundamental and advanced data structures including arrays, linked lists, trees, graphs, hash tables, and heaps. Proficiency in algorithm design, complexity analysis (Big O notation), and optimization techniques. Experience implementing solutions for search, sorting, graph traversal, and dynamic programming problems.

  • Full Software Development Lifecycle Expertise

    Comprehensive understanding of SDLC phases including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Experience with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies, code review processes, and technical documentation. Familiarity with testing frameworks and quality assurance practices.

  • High-Quality Code Development and Testing

    Demonstrated ability to produce well-tested, maintainable, production-grade code. Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests. Knowledge of testing frameworks relevant to your primary language, and commitment to achieving appropriate code coverage metrics and reducing technical debt.

  • Coding Agents and AI-Assisted Development

    Hands-on experience with coding agents, LLM-powered development tools, or AI-assisted IDEs such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar platforms. Understanding of how to effectively collaborate with AI tools to accelerate development. If lacking direct experience, demonstrated strong interest and ability to rapidly adopt these emerging technologies and mentor others.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field

    Formal education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline providing foundation in algorithms, data structures, system design, and software engineering principles. Equivalent work experience in lieu of degree may be considered given sufficient professional background.

Experience

  • Enterprise Software Development

    Experience building enterprise-scale software products with complex requirements, multiple stakeholders, and scalability needs. Understanding of enterprise architecture considerations, security compliance, and managing technical complexity at scale.

  • Ambiguous Requirements and Product Discovery

    Proven ability to work effectively with evolving, ambiguous requirements and translate ad hoc findings into well-structured, reusable product features. Experience collaborating with product managers and customers to clarify requirements and iteratively refine solutions.

  • Data Migration or Integration Projects

    Background in designing or implementing data migration solutions, ETL pipelines, system integrations, or data transformation workflows. Understanding of challenges in moving data between systems while maintaining integrity and minimizing downtime.

  • AI-Assisted Development Tools Adoption

    Experience introducing or scaling AI-assisted development practices within teams. Familiarity with prompt engineering, leveraging LLMs for code generation, and establishing best practices for human-AI collaboration in software development workflows.

You will operate at the intersection of agentic AI tooling and product engineering, utilizing coding agents to expedite the development of migration workflows and integrating these agents into operational processes to accelerate migration timelines.

What you'll do at UiPath

  • Design and build an AI native migration product that allows users to move data, configurations, and workflows onto our platform with minimal manual intervention

  • Use coding agents to accelerate the development, from scaffolding migration scripts to generating and validating transformation logic.

  • Integrate coding agents harnesses into the product to assist with overall migration process and allow customizations, automated testing and validation.

  • Use BA agents to analyze customer environments, extract migration requirements, and surface edge cases before they become blockers.

  • Turn insights from individual migrations into reusable, repeatable product capability - patterns, templates, and automation that generalize beyond a single customer.

  • Collaborate with teams across UiPath to design and engineer areas of our product and services.

  • Ensure technical deliverables meet customer expectations, and all requirements of quality, security, scalability, modifiability, extensibility, testability, etc.

  • Help establish effective and agile engineering practices, particularly around incorporating AI-assisted and agentic development into the team's workflow.

  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.

  • Plan feature development, design system components, and build engineering roadmap.

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

  • 6+ years of experience in a software engineering role, using one or more high level programming languages (C#, Java, Python, Rust etc.)
