What you'll do.
Software Engineer II at UiPath focuses on designing and building an AI-native migration product that leverages agentic AI tooling and coding agents to automate the movement of data, configurations, and workflows onto the UiPath platform. This role operates at the intersection of advanced AI development and enterprise product engineering, requiring strong fundamentals in software architecture, concurrent programming, and hands-on experience or proven interest in AI-assisted development to accelerate migration timelines and build repeatable product capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and Build AI-Native Migration Product: Architect and develop a sophisticated migration product that enables users to move data, configurations, and workflows onto the UiPath platform with minimal manual intervention, incorporating intelligent automation and user-friendly interfaces.
- Leverage Coding Agents for Accelerated Development: Utilize advanced coding agents to expedite development workflows, from scaffolding migration scripts to generating and validating complex transformation logic, while continuously iterating on agent capabilities.
- Integrate Agentic AI Harnesses into Product: Embed coding agent capabilities directly into the product offering to assist with the overall migration process, enabling customizations, automated testing, and comprehensive validation workflows.
- Employ Business Analysis Agents for Requirements Extraction: Implement BA agents to analyze customer environments, extract migration requirements, surface edge cases before they escalate to blockers, and provide actionable insights for product enhancement.
- Generalize Migration Patterns into Reusable Capabilities: Transform insights and learnings from individual customer migrations into broadly applicable product features including patterns, templates, and automation that scale across multiple customers and use cases.
- Cross-Team Collaboration and Product Design: Partner with engineering, product, and services teams across UiPath to design system components, architect product areas, and ensure seamless integration with the broader platform ecosystem.
- Ensure Quality, Security, and Scalability Standards: Deliver technical solutions that meet stringent requirements for quality, security, scalability, modifiability, extensibility, and testability while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability standards.
- Establish AI-Assisted Engineering Practices: Help define and implement effective agile engineering practices that incorporate AI-assisted and agentic development methodologies into team workflows for improved velocity and code quality.
- Identify and Resolve Technical Bottlenecks: Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, bugs, and architectural limitations, then devise and implement comprehensive solutions to mitigate and resolve these issues.
- Plan Feature Development and Build Engineering Roadmap: Contribute to feature planning and roadmap prioritization, design system components, and help establish the technical direction for migration tooling evolution.
- Maintain Code Quality and Engineering Excellence: Champion code quality standards, ensure proper code organization, implement comprehensive test automation, and maintain high engineering practices across the team's codebase.

High-Level Programming Languages
Proficiency in one or more enterprise programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or Rust with demonstrated ability to write production-grade code.
Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns

Hands-on experience with coding agents and AI-assisted development tools or strong demonstrated interest in adopting these technologies to accelerate development cycles and iterate on tooling.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
Formal education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience in software development.
Experience
Software Engineering Background
Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering roles involving design, development, and maintenance of production systems.
Enterprise Product Development
Proven track record working with enterprise software systems, preferably involving data migration, integration platforms, or workflow automation.
Ambiguous Requirements Management
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in environments with ambiguous and evolving requirements, transforming ad hoc findings into structured, reusable product features.

Turn insights from individual migrations into reusable, repeatable product capability - patterns, templates, and automation that generalize beyond a single customer.
Collaborate with teams across UiPath to design and engineer areas of our product and services.
Ensure technical deliverables meet customer expectations, and all requirements of quality, security, scalability, modifiability, extensibility, testability, etc.
Help establish effective and agile engineering practices, particularly around incorporating AI-assisted and agentic development into the team's workflow.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.
Plan feature development, design system components, and build engineering roadmap.
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

What you'll bring to the team
3+ years of experience in a software engineering role, using one or more high level programming languages (C#, Java, Python, Rust etc.)
Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and architectural design patterns.
Strong knowledge of multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous programming.
Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Well-versed with the entire software development life cycle.
Able to produce well-tested, high-quality code.
Curiosity and hands-on experience with coding agents and AI-assisted development, or strong interest in adopting them to build faster and iterate on the toolkit itself.
Comfort working with ambiguous, evolving requirements and turning ad hoc findings into structured, reusable product features.
