Summary

Welltech is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Java to join their Payments team, focusing on developing a modern, internal payments platform. The ideal candidate will design scalable microservices, work in cloud-native environments, and contribute to the company's mission of transforming global health and wellness through innovative technology solutions.

What you'll do

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Frontend/Backend Engineers, Infrastructure, QA, and Product Managers to design and deliver innovative solutions
System Design: Translate requirements into scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems
Microservices Development: Build, deploy, and maintain high-performance microservices using Spring Boot
Cloud Management: Manage deployments across Kubernetes clusters with minimal production downtime
System Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security bottlenecks
Engineering Leadership: Drive best practices, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members

Java Expertise5+ years of production Java development

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Backend DevelopmentMinimum 5 years of professional backend engineering experience
