The role

Summary

Zip is seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer who will work closely with critical customers, shipping high-impact features and driving enterprise-grade platform development. The role requires exceptional technical skills, product intuition, and the ability to communicate complex technical solutions directly with business stakeholders.

What you'll do

Customer Project Leadership: Lead engineering on critical customer projects, managing scope, sequencing, and delivery timelines
Feature Development: Ship high-impact features that advance strategic deals and platform capabilities
Product Strategy: Collaborate with product teams to define platform roadmap and make strategic technical decisions
Customer Communication: Directly interact with procurement, finance, and IT teams to diagnose and resolve technical challenges

Technical

Production SystemsExperience shipping non-trivial production systems
Stack ProficiencyAbility to work across backend (Python) and frontend (React/TypeScript)

Education

Computer ScienceDegree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred

Experience

Software EngineeringDemonstrated experience in full-stack or product engineering roles
Customer InteractionExperience translating technical requirements into business context
