The role

Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to build and maintain the company's global cloud network infrastructure, focusing on designing, implementing, and supporting highly available and secure network solutions across multiple global data centers and cloud regions.

What you'll do

Network Infrastructure Design: Build foundations of corporate network and design team structure for future scalability

Global Network Management: Maintain, design, and deploy Airwallex's global cloud footprint, aligning network requirements to regional demands

Network Security and Availability: Design, implement, and maintain highly available and secure production network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, and Cloud networks

Incident Management: Act as first-responder for complex network issues, managing incidents through completion and producing after-action reports

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with multiple teams including CorpSec, ProdSec, Engineering, and IT to integrate network solutions and support business initiatives

What we look for

Technical

Networking CertificationsCCNP / JNCIP level certification or equivalent experience

Cloud Platform ExperienceProven experience with AWS and/or GCP, preferably with multiple cloud environments

Vendor Networking SkillsExpertise in multi-vendor networking environments (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba)

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field

Experience

Professional Experience5+ years of relevant networking experience in a global, complex environment

Incident ResponseDemonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex network issues

Skills

Required skills

Networking ConfigurationExpert-level command-line configuration of networking hardware across multiple vendors

Cloud NetworkingAdvanced understanding of cloud network architectures and connectivity

Routing ProtocolsStrong knowledge of BGP and advanced route filtering principles

Nice to have

Automation SkillsExperience with scripting (Python, Bash) and event-driven automation

Infrastructure as CodeFamiliarity with declarative infrastructure tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines

Linux SkillsStrong knowledge of Linux distributions and system administration
