Summary

Airwallex is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead for its KYC team in Singapore, focusing on developing scalable automation tools and AI-driven solutions to optimize user onboarding and risk detection processes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic technical leader who can mentor engineers, design innovative systems, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced fintech environment.

What you'll do

Automation and Efficiency: Design, build, and maintain scalable automation tools that improve internal operational efficiency and customer onboarding experience
Risk Management: Develop and implement AI and data-driven solutions to predict user risks and prevent fraudulent or malicious activities
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, operations, compliance, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver impactful technical solutions
Technical Leadership: Participate in architectural discussions, conduct code reviews, and contribute to high-quality engineering standards
System Optimization: Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and scalability of KYC platforms
Team Development: Serve as a technical role model, mentor junior team members, and support their professional growth

What we look for

Technical

Backend DevelopmentStrong software engineering skills in backend development using Kotlin, Java, or similar languages
Frontend DevelopmentProficiency in frontend technologies like React and TypeScript
Automation SystemsHands-on experience in building scalable and robust workflow automation systems
Cloud TechnologiesFamiliarity with cloud environments like AWS, GCP, and container technologies such as Kubernetes

Education

Computer Science DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field

Experience

Engineering ExperienceMinimum of 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Leadership ExperiencePreferably 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
