Summary

Airwallex is seeking an Engineering Lead for their KYC team in Singapore, focusing on developing scalable automation tools and AI-driven solutions to optimize user onboarding and risk detection processes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic technical leader who can drive operational excellence through innovative engineering solutions in a fast-paced fintech environment.

What you'll do

System Automation: Design, build, and maintain scalable automation tools that improve internal operational efficiency and customer onboarding experience
Risk Detection: Develop and implement AI and data-driven solutions to predict user risks and prevent fraudulent or malicious activities
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, operations, compliance, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver impactful technical solutions
Technical Leadership: Participate in architectural discussions, conduct code reviews, and contribute to high-quality engineering standards
System Optimization: Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and scalability
Mentorship: Serve as a technical role model for junior team members and support their professional growth

Backend DevelopmentSolid software engineering skills in backend development using Kotlin/Java
Frontend DevelopmentExperience with React and TypeScript
Workflow SystemsHands-on experience in building scalable and robust automation or workflow systems

Education

Computer Science DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field

Experience

Software EngineeringMinimum 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Technical LeadershipPreferably 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring engineers
