Summary

Airwallex is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to drive the Notification Platform team, responsible for building and operating critical, cloud-native communication infrastructure that supports organization-wide messaging across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in distributed systems with strong people leadership skills to guide a high-performance engineering team.

What you'll do

Platform Architecture: Design and maintain a resilient, high-throughput Notification Platform supporting multiple communication channels

Technical Leadership: Provide architectural guidance and maintain high engineering standards

Team Development: Manage, coach, and grow engineering team through performance management and career development

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to drive business transformation

System Optimization: Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system performance and reliability

Distributed SystemsExpertise in designing large-scale, low-latency communication systems

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Java, Python, or Go

MiddlewareExperience with Kafka, PostgreSQL, and event pipeline management

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related engineering field

Experience

Engineering Leadership1+ years in people leadership managing engineers directly

Systems Development8+ years of experience in modern engineering practices
