Summary

Airwallex is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for its Growth team to lead and scale high-performing engineering teams. The ideal candidate will drive talent strategy, manage cross-functional initiatives, and support the company's global expansion by building robust, innovative technical solutions that drive user acquisition and product adoption.

What you'll do

Talent Strategy: Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of top-tier engineers and managers, creating robust succession plans and career development pathways.
Team Performance: Build and scale a high-performing engineering organization by setting goals, establishing career paths, and managing performance and compensation processes.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate execution across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and other engineering teams, ensuring strategic alignment and effective communication.
Strategic Alignment: Provide leadership for mission-critical platforms, aligning technical direction and capacity planning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

What we look for

Technical

Software Engineering ExpertiseMinimum 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong background in building API- and integration-heavy systems
Technical LeadershipAbility to make technical tradeoffs and align engineering efforts with business objectives and success metrics

Education

DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Management Experience3+ years in leadership roles managing high-performing teams
Talent ManagementProven track record in recruiting, onboarding, and developing engineering talent

Team LeadershipAbility to manage, coach, and develop engineering teams
Performance ManagementExperience running performance and compensation processes
Stakeholder CommunicationStrong skills in translating technical concepts across different organizational levels
