Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to partner with the Marketing team to drive data-driven insights and directly impact business outcomes. This role involves developing key Marketing reports, conducting deep-dive analyses, and optimizing Marketing strategies for a global fintech company valued at $8 billion. The position requires 6+ years of experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative field and expertise in SQL, Python/R, and marketing analytics.

What you'll do

Marketing Performance Analysis: Analyze data to assess performance and ROI of Marketing initiatives across all channels
Dashboard Development: Develop dashboards and reports to provide observability, enabling stakeholders to make data-driven decisions
KPI Subject Matter Expertise: Be the subject matter expert for all Marketing KPIs, consulting on Marketing data related projects
Campaign Performance Partnership: Partner with Marketing stakeholders to objectively measure campaign performance and identify actionable insights
Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop data-driven Marketing forecasts and budgets to inform organizational-level planning
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to identify opportunities for improvement in Marketing strategies and campaigns
Experimentation Support: Support experiments to measure impact of ad spend, brand campaigns, and other Marketing initiatives

Data Querying LanguagesExpert proficiency in SQL for complex data analysis and reporting
Scripting LanguagesAdvanced skills in Python or R for statistical analysis and modeling
Statistical AnalysisAbility to perform advanced statistical analysis and develop machine learning models
Schema DesignExperience in schema design and dimensional data modeling
Marketing Analytics PlatformsExperience with Google Analytics, Marketo, and Salesforce preferred

Education

Advanced DegreePhD or MS in a quantitative field (Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, Economics)

Experience

Industry Experience6+ years of industry experience in data science or analytics
Marketing Analytics2+ years of specific experience in Marketing Analytics or similar role
Digital Marketing ChannelsExperience with email, paid ads, SEO, and other digital marketing channels highly advantageous
Executive CommunicationExperience communicating analysis results to executives and cross-functional teams to influence strategy
