Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Infrastructure team focused on data platforms, responsible for designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure supporting Kafka, Flink, and Spark technologies. The role involves leading DevOps strategy across multiple countries while building consensus on tools and practices for their global data and AI infrastructure supporting 200,000+ businesses worldwide.

What you'll do

DevOps Strategy Leadership: Lead the design of comprehensive DevOps strategy and work closely with cross-functional teams to develop cloud infrastructure

Global Infrastructure Management: Own and manage Data and AI infrastructure across multiple countries and geographical regions

Performance Optimization: Develop and evolve cloud infrastructure optimized for performance, scalability, and security to support 10x business growth

Observability Development: Build operational platform management capabilities and develop observability and detection systems to decrease problem discovery time

Cross-Team Consensus Building: Build consensus amongst DevOps Engineers across geographies about tools and practices, evolving agreements into standardized practices

Data Infrastructure Maintenance: Develop and maintain data infrastructure incorporating technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and Spark

Self-Service Platform Development: Create and enhance tooling and platforms to empower engineering teams with improved self-service capabilities

Kubernetes ExpertiseDemonstrated expertise in Kubernetes container orchestration and management

Infrastructure as CodeDemonstrated expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management

GitOps ImplementationDemonstrated expertise in GitOps practices for declarative infrastructure management

Data Streaming PlatformsPrior experience working with data streaming platforms such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark

Programming ProficiencyHands-on experience with at least one programming language for automation and tooling

Education

Bachelor's DegreeBachelor degree or above in computer science or engineering related majors

Experience

DevOps Engineering ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience in production environments

Data Infrastructure ExperienceData streaming engineering experience with large-scale data processing systems

Cloud Platform ManagementExperience with multi-cloud infrastructure management and optimization
