Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure team in Singapore to build and maintain cutting-edge, secure, and scalable cloud systems that support their cross-border payment solutions. The role requires 5+ years of distributed systems experience with deep expertise in public cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, and Istio service mesh, along with proficiency in Golang or Python.

What you'll do

Cloud Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain cutting-edge cloud systems across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms

System Reliability & Security: Ensure high availability, security, and performance of distributed payment infrastructure

Kubernetes Management: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Istio service mesh

Infrastructure Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions to automate provisioning and deployment processes

Service Development: Write and maintain cloud services primarily in Golang with Python as an alternative

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to deliver scalable solutions

Global Scaling: Support Airwallex's international expansion by building globally scalable infrastructure

Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex distributed system issues to maintain service reliability

Technical

Distributed Systems Experience5+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems architecture

Public Cloud ExpertiseDeep experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure)

Kubernetes ProficiencyProduction experience with Kubernetes container orchestration

Service Mesh KnowledgeHands-on experience with Istio service mesh implementation

Programming LanguagesAbility to write services in Golang (preferred) or Python
