As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Airwallex, you'll develop cutting-edge React-based financial solutions for embedded finance products that directly impact 200,000+ global businesses. What you'll do

Build Cutting-Edge Financial UI Solutions: Develop sophisticated, user-centric frontend interfaces for embedded finance products using ReactJS, directly enabling businesses worldwide to streamline payment processes and optimize customer conversion rates through intuitive design patterns and responsive web architectures.
Cross-Functional Product Development: Partner strategically with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate Embedded Finance product concepts into fully-realized, market-ready solutions, ensuring seamless integration with complex payment infrastructure and business workflows.
Customer-Centric Design Implementation: Conduct deep discovery of customer pain points and needs within the fintech and payments domain, then leverage strong product sense to architect frontend solutions that resonate with users, drive adoption, and reduce friction in payment operations.
Performance Measurement and Optimization: Instrument frontend applications with comprehensive analytics and observability, interpret performance metrics and user behavior data to inform optimization decisions, and systematically improve web application speed, scalability, and user experience for global audiences.
Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on frontend best practices, champion knowledge-sharing sessions, establish high technical standards for code quality and architecture, and foster a continuous learning culture within the engineering team.
Frontend Architecture and Scalability: Design and implement scalable frontend architectures capable of handling high-transaction volumes, optimize web application performance for users across diverse geographic regions, and leverage modern frontend build tools and deployment strategies to support rapid iteration.

Advanced ReactJS ProficiencyDeep expertise in React fundamentals including hooks, state management (Redux, Context API), component composition patterns, and advanced patterns for building scalable, maintainable single-page applications handling complex financial workflows.
Node.js Backend IntegrationSolid understanding of Node.js runtime and backend integration patterns to collaborate effectively with backend teams, optimize API consumption, and implement server-side rendering or API interaction layers where appropriate.

Education

5+ Years Frontend Development ExperienceMinimum 5 years of professional frontend software development experience, with at least 3+ years of advanced ReactJS work in production environments at scale.
Fintech or Payments Industry BackgroundProven experience building complex web applications within fintech, digital payments, transaction-heavy platforms, or financial services environments where reliability, security, and performance are critical.
Global-Scale Application DevelopmentDemonstrated experience architecting and optimizing frontend applications for global user bases, handling internationalization (i18n), localization, and multi-regional deployment considerations.
Mentorship and Technical LeadershipTrack record of mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, establishing frontend best practices, and contributing to team technical culture and professional development initiatives.
