Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Infrastructure & Productivity team, focusing on building cutting-edge AI-powered development infrastructure. The role involves creating autonomous software delivery platforms, developing AI agent systems, and implementing innovative tools that enhance engineering productivity across the organization.

What you'll do

AI Agent Infrastructure Development: Develop and extend AirDev platform for autonomous software development tasks, managing agent lifecycles and integrating with enterprise tools like GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Slack

AI-Powered Application Development: Contribute to AirForge, a containerized desktop application for generating, previewing, and publishing web applications using advanced AI technologies

Workflow Orchestration: Build and maintain systems like Quartermaster and CREW to provision, coordinate, and govern autonomous agent workflows across the organization

Event-Driven Integration: Design and maintain Kafka-based event pipelines, webhook handlers, and API integrations to connect AI agents with enterprise systems

Production Infrastructure Management: Ensure reliability of production agent infrastructure through comprehensive monitoring, alerting, incident response, and continuous improvement of Kubernetes-based platform services

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js with experience building production backend services

Cloud TechnologiesHands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS also relevant)

Architecture KnowledgeSolid understanding of event-driven architectures, messaging systems like Kafka, and RESTful API design

Education

Computer Science/Software EngineeringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience

Software Development LifecycleExperience with full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, code review, and production operations

Backend DevelopmentStrong backend service development skills using Python or TypeScript

ContainerizationExperienced with Docker and Kubernetes deployment strategies
