The role

Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Singapore-based Lending Engineering team to build and scale their embedded lending platform for global enterprise clients. The role involves architecting secure, scalable systems and APIs that enable seamless credit product integration while maintaining high performance standards.

What you'll do

System Architecture & Design: Design, develop, and maintain robust services powering lending platform with focus on credit products

API Development: Build and maintain secure, scalable, and well-documented APIs for seamless client integration

Technical Leadership: Lead design reviews, provide systems architecture guidance, and mentor engineering team members

Distributed Systems: Champion resilient, distributed systems design and best practices for global enterprise scale

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful lending solutions

Quality Assurance: Promote robust automated testing, code review, and monitoring practices for platform stability

Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements to platform architecture, engineering practices, and delivery efficiency

Technical

Backend DevelopmentStrong computer science foundation and object-oriented programming skills with backend systems experience

Java/Kotlin ProficiencyExperience with Java or Kotlin and Spring/Spring Boot framework

API DesignExtensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs with modern design principles

Distributed SystemsProven track record with high-throughput, low-latency, highly available distributed systems

Cloud PlatformsCloud experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS with Docker and Kubernetes

Observability ToolsFamiliarity with Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus monitoring tools

Education

Bachelor's DegreeBachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

Software Engineering5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with modern practices

Technical LeadershipAt least 2 years in technical leadership role mentoring engineers

Domain-Driven DesignExperience with domain-driven design (DDD) and event-driven architectures in production

Continuous IntegrationStrong exposure to modern engineering practices and continuous integration
