Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Payments Platform team in Amsterdam, building next-generation payment acceptance infrastructure for global merchants. The role involves developing REST services and microservices architecture, working with payment gateways and card networks like Visa/Mastercard, and collaborating with product teams to deliver business outcomes at scale.

What you'll do

Payment Infrastructure Development: Build and maintain next-generation Payment Acceptance infrastructure focused on merchant needs

Microservices Architecture: Develop REST services and integration components within backend microservices architecture

Product Feature Delivery: Deliver product features that achieve business outcomes beyond just technical implementation

System Design and Implementation: Design and implement new capabilities aligned with product roadmap requirements

Architectural Reviews: Conduct architectural reviews for current and upcoming payment solutions

Technical Debt Management: Address technical debt and enhance operational effectiveness of payment systems

Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with payments product team and partner engineering teams

Payment Network Integration: Work with Visa and Mastercard payment platforms and card network integrations

High-Volume System Management: Handle high-volume distributed systems and event streams for payment processing

Quality Assurance: Deliver meticulously tested and high-quality payment solutions with comprehensive testing

Backend Development Experience5+ years expertise in contemporary engineering methodologies with continuous integration

Java/Kotlin ProficiencyRecent focus on Java or Kotlin with Spring/Spring Boot technologies

REST API DesignSpecialized in designing and constructing REST APIs for payment systems

Distributed SystemsExperience with high-volume distributed systems and event streaming
