Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Software Engineer II for their Onboarding team to build scalable backend services that facilitate rapid business integration into their global financial platform. The role involves developing microservices in Java/Kotlin, ensuring compliance and security for KYC operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the company's mission of serving over 200,000 businesses worldwide.

What you'll do

Microservices Development: Develop and maintain microservices in Java/Kotlin supporting high-availability globally distributed systems

System Architecture: Implement best practices for service-to-service communication, orchestration, and fault tolerance

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Frontend, Product, Design, and Marketing teams to translate business requirements into scalable backend solutions

API Development: Develop internal and external APIs with focus on compatibility and developer experience

External Integration: Collaborate with Airwallex external partners and integrate with their products via APIs

Security Implementation: Integrate secure coding practices and frameworks to protect user data and maintain global regulatory compliance

Risk Management: Identify potential vulnerabilities and proactively address security risks in financial systems

Performance Optimization: Continuously improve backend functionalities to reduce friction, increase user engagement, and drive conversions
