Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead their Growth Analytics team, partnering with Growth, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to drive scalable growth through advanced data science techniques. This role requires 7+ years of experience and combines technical leadership with strategic business impact in a high-growth fintech environment.

What you'll do

Technical Partnership: Operate as the technical partner to Growth, Marketing, Sales and Data Science leaders to define and implement Airwallex's growth strategy

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the team in applying data science techniques including root-cause analysis, statistical modeling, and experimentation

Growth Optimization: Drive product-led growth through acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation strategies using data insights

Business Impact: Establish insight-driven approaches to address key business problems and drive measurable business impact

Framework Development: Build scalable measurement frameworks that enable consistent, data-driven decision-making across teams

Stakeholder Communication: Clearly and persuasively communicate data insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences

Initiative Translation: Translate open-ended business problems into clearly defined data science initiatives for team implementation

Mentorship: Mentor and coach junior data scientists while acting as single-threaded technical owner on cross-functional initiatives

Programming LanguagesStrong proficiency in SQL and Python/R for data analysis and modeling

Data Science TechniquesExpertise in root-cause analysis, statistical modeling, and experimentation methodologies

Data ModelingExperience with data modeling techniques and frameworks

Growth AnalyticsDemonstrated experience applying data science to drive growth initiatives with concrete impact

Education

Quantitative DegreeDegree in Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field

Advanced DegreePhD or MS preferred for advanced statistical and analytical capabilities

Industry Experience7+ years of industry experience in data science or analytics roles

Leadership ExperienceProven experience mentoring or leading data science or data analytics teams
