Summary

Airwallex, a US$8 billion fintech unicorn, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Ops Efficiency team in Singapore. This role focuses on building AI-driven automation systems for user onboarding, risk detection, and operational efficiency across the global payments platform. The position requires 5+ years of backend experience with Kotlin/Java and offers the opportunity to lead technical initiatives in a high-growth fintech environment.

What you'll do

Design Automation Systems: Design, build, and maintain scalable automation tools and systems that improve internal operational efficiency and customer onboarding experience

AI Risk Detection: Develop and implement AI and data-driven solutions to predict user risks and prevent fraudulent/malicious activities

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders including product managers, operations, compliance, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions

Code Quality Leadership: Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews, contributing to high-quality engineering standards

System Optimization: Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and scalability of automation and workflow systems

Technical Mentorship: Serve as a technical role model for junior team members and support their technical growth when needed

Backend DevelopmentSolid software engineering skills with experience in backend development using Kotlin or Java
