Summary

AKASA is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for its Machine Learning Engineering team, focusing on advancing AI solutions in healthcare revenue cycle management. The ideal candidate will lead a talented team in developing and deploying cutting-edge LLM technologies, driving innovation in healthcare AI with a strong emphasis on production-ready machine learning solutions.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and manage a high-performing Machine Learning Engineering team, focusing on developing advanced AI capabilities for healthcare revenue cycle solutions
Technical Development: Supervise and contribute to LLM stack development, including model fine-tuning, inference, evaluation, and deployment
Infrastructure Optimization: Develop and improve infrastructure and tooling to enhance the machine learning model development lifecycle
Strategic Planning: Translate business requirements into technical designs, balancing constraints like latency, cost, performance, and system uptime
Talent Acquisition: Set the vision for the team and attract top machine learning engineering talent to AKASA

Machine Learning ExpertiseExtensive experience with LLMs, RAG, and embeddings, with hands-on model fine-tuning and production deployment
Technical ProficiencyAdvanced skills in Python, PyTorch, and Kubernetes

Education

Advanced DegreeMS or PhD in Computer Science, preferably with a focus on Machine Learning

Experience

Machine Learning ExperienceMinimum 7+ years of professional work experience in Machine Learning
Management Experience5+ years of people management, including career development, performance reviews, and team mentorship
