The role

Summary

Join Alan's Prévenir occupational health initiative as a Fullstack Software Engineer to build AI-first medical software and customer infrastructure from scratch. You'll work in a zero-to-one startup environment within a fast-growing European healthtech company, collaborating with medical professionals and product teams to revolutionize workplace health services across France. This role requires 2+ years of fullstack development experience with Python/Flask and React, combined with a product-minded approach and strong bias for action in a mission-driven healthcare technology setting.

What you'll do

AI-First Medical Software Development: Build and maintain the core occupational health medical software platform used daily by dozens of health professionals. This includes developing features for patient file management, consultation audio transcription using AI capabilities, workplace risk assessment, video consultation infrastructure, and appointment scheduling systems. Work closely with doctors and nurses to understand their clinical workflows and implement time-saving, seamless solutions that enhance their ability to provide preventative care.
Customer Setup and Billing Infrastructure: Design and implement the customer onboarding machinery that simplifies complex processes for HR departments and company administrators. This includes building systems for company affiliation, contracting, billing automation, workplace risk declaration, and member enrollment flows. Create intuitive interfaces that abstract away the regulatory complexity while ensuring compliance with occupational health requirements.
Onsite Experience Implementation: Develop both digital and physical touchpoints for the occupational health center experience. Collaborate with designers and operations teams to implement booking systems, in-center workflows, and integrated experiences that serve employees and health professionals in Alan's new Paris medical center. Bridge the gap between online scheduling and offline medical services.
Zero-to-One Feature Development: Take ownership of building entirely new features from concept through production in a startup-within-startup environment. Work with minimal constraints and maximum autonomy to create innovative features that address real problems in occupational health. Focus on delivering immediate, measurable impact rather than incremental improvements.
Cross-Team Collaboration and Integration: Partner closely with medical professionals, product designers, user researchers, operations teams, and other engineering teams across Alan. Participate in design reviews, medical requirement discussions, and architectural decisions. Contribute to the broader Alan platform while maintaining Prévenir's autonomy and specialized focus.
Code Ownership and Quality Standards: Own the code you build in a distributed ownership model, ensuring production-grade quality, scalability, and reliability. Participate in daily deployments, code reviews, and system maintenance. Implement solutions that meet healthcare uptime and regulatory compliance requirements while maintaining code clarity and maintainability.
Healthcare System Compliance and Integration: Ensure all technical solutions comply with healthcare regulations, data protection laws (GDPR), and occupational health requirements. Integrate with existing healthcare systems and manage medical data with appropriate security and privacy controls. Stay informed about regulatory frameworks governing occupational health services in France and other European markets.
Technical Decision-Making with Incomplete Information: Make architectural and implementation decisions in ambiguous situations with incomplete information. Apply bias for action to ship, learn from feedback, and iterate. Balance speed with reliability and compliance in a regulated healthcare environment.
