Summary

Clipboard Health is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale high-performing, distributed engineering teams. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and contribute to the company's mission of transforming healthcare staffing through innovative technology solutions.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and manage engineering teams, ensuring optimal performance, quality delivery, and strategic alignment with business objectives.
Product Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers to create team roadmaps that balance business goals and customer needs.
Technical Guidance: Provide technical coaching through PR reviews, architecture discussions, and design document feedback to maintain high engineering standards.
Performance Management: Drive team performance by proactively identifying issues, providing actionable feedback, and supporting continuous improvement.
Talent Development: Mentor engineers, create personalized development plans, and support professional growth across the engineering organization.
Process Optimization: Streamline engineering processes, establish team goals, and elevate the technical standards across the company.
Talent Acquisition: Lead comprehensive hiring efforts, from candidate screening to onboarding, to support the team's rapid growth.

What we look for

Technical

Technical ProficiencyStrong understanding of system design, software development principles, and hands-on coding experience
Technology FamiliarityExperience with modern tech stacks, preferably including Typescript, React, NestJS, and microservices architecture

Education

Degree PreferenceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Management Experience6+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years leading software development teams
Team ManagementProven track record of managing agile, high-performing teams in distributed environments
Startup ExperienceBackground in startup environments or as a startup founder is highly valued
