Summary

Clipboard Health is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale their engineering teams in a fast-growing, globally distributed remote environment. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, mentor high-performing teams, and contribute to the company's mission of transforming healthcare staffing through innovative technology solutions.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and manage engineering teams, ensuring optimal performance, high-quality delivery, and strategic alignment with business goals
Product Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers to create and execute team roadmaps that balance business objectives and customer needs
Technical Guidance: Provide technical coaching through PR reviews, architecture discussions, and design document feedback to maintain high technical standards
Performance Management: Drive team performance through proactive issue identification, continuous improvement, and actionable feedback
Talent Development: Mentor engineers, create personalized development plans, and foster a culture of growth and continuous learning
Process Optimization: Streamline and improve engineering processes, promote transparency, and raise the technical bar across the organization
Talent Acquisition: Lead hiring initiatives, participate in all stages of recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention

What we look for

Technical

Software Development ExperienceMinimum 6 years of software development experience with 2+ years in leadership roles
System DesignStrong hands-on experience with system design and technical architecture
Team ManagementProven expertise managing agile, distributed, high-performing engineering teams

Education

Computer Science or Related FieldBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Engineering LeadershipMinimum 2 years of experience leading software development teams as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Startup Founder
Performance ManagementDemonstrated ability to address performance issues and provide empowering coaching
