Summary

Codat is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Insights team, focusing on building and maintaining robust data pipelines that transform raw data into actionable intelligence for commercial banking solutions. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer who can drive technical quality, collaborate across teams, and deliver high-impact data engineering projects.

What you'll do

Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain production-ready data pipelines using Python, focusing on reliability and performance
End-to-End Project Ownership: Manage full project lifecycle from domain understanding to solution design and delivery
Technical Quality Assurance: Implement robust testing, observability, and data quality checks
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, data science, and engineering teams to drive technical solutions
AI Integration: Identify and implement AI opportunities within products and workflows
Team Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to team growth by promoting best engineering practices

What we look for

Technical

Data Engineering ToolsProficiency in modern data engineering tools like SQL, Spark, Databricks, and orchestration platforms
Programming LanguagesStrong skills in Python or other strongly-typed languages
Cloud and DevOpsExperience with CI/CD, containerization, and cloud infrastructure

Education

Computer ScienceDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Production CodeDemonstrable experience writing production-ready, maintainable code
Data Pipeline DevelopmentProven track record of building and maintaining complex data pipelines
