The role

Summary

Codat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Platform & Infrastructure team to drive the evolution of mission-critical platform services. The ideal candidate will enhance developer productivity, improve system reliability, and contribute to the technical roadmap with a focus on scalability, performance, and security in a high-growth cloud environment.

What you'll do

Platform Service Design: Design, implement, and maintain core platform services and tools to enhance developer productivity, reliability, and security across engineering teams.
Technical Roadmap Development: Drive the technical roadmap for cloud infrastructure, focusing on simplicity, scalability, and cost-efficient architecture principles.
Operational Excellence: Establish and advocate for best practices in CI/CD pipelines, observability, automated testing, and proactive system performance management.
Incident Resolution: Lead complex production incident resolution and proactively identify and mitigate reliability and performance bottlenecks in the platform foundation.
Mentorship: Guide product engineers on platform usage, architectural patterns, and operational best practices, embodying the 'platform is the product' mindset.

Cloud InfrastructureExtensive experience operating production systems in high-availability cloud environments
Programming LanguagesDeep expertise in strongly typed languages, with ability to deliver value in C#
Infrastructure as CodePractical experience with tools like Terraform for infrastructure management
ContainerizationExperience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization and orchestration technologies
Networking and SecurityStrong foundation in networking and security best practices

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

Production SystemsProven track record of building robust, reliable systems with focus on observability and operational excellence
Deployment ProcessesProficiency in modern build and deployment processes, including automated, progressive continuous deployments

Skills

C#Strong programming skills in C# and strongly typed languages
Cloud InfrastructureExpertise in managing and developing cloud-based infrastructure
TerraformProficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
KubernetesAdvanced knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization
