The role

Summary

Confluent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Developer Productivity (DevProd) team to design, build, and operate internal platform services that enhance engineering velocity and developer experience. The ideal candidate will work on multi-tenant services, improve testing capabilities, and explore AI-assisted developer workflows in a collaborative, innovative environment.

What you'll do

Platform Services Development: Design and operate secure, multi-tenant internal developer platform services

Testing Capabilities: Improve pre-production and performance testing through automated and comprehensive test scenarios

AI Integration: Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted workflows for developers with appropriate guardrails

Project Delivery: Drive end-to-end project implementation with clear documentation and collaborative approach

Team Culture: Participate in on-call rotations, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to DevProd best practices

Distributed SystemsDeep understanding of distributed systems architecture and reliability principles

Programming ProficiencyStrong skills in statically typed and scripting languages

Education

Computer ScienceBS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum 5 years of software engineering experience in cloud services or distributed systems
