Summary

Deel is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their global, innovative SaaS platform that revolutionizes workforce management. The ideal candidate will design and maintain robust data pipelines, optimize data warehouses, and collaborate across teams to support Deel's mission of transforming global work infrastructure.

What you'll do

Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient ETL processes to integrate data from various source systems into the data warehouse, ensuring smooth and reliable data flow.
Data Warehouse Optimization: Develop and optimize data warehouse schemas and tables to support advanced analytics and reporting needs, focusing on performance and scalability.
Data Transformation: Write and refine complex SQL queries and use Python scripting to transform and aggregate large datasets with high precision and efficiency.
Data Quality Management: Implement comprehensive data quality measures, including validation checks and cleansing routines to maintain data integrity and reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other engineers to understand complex data requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
Documentation and Communication: Document pipeline designs, data flows, and data definitions to ensure transparency, knowledge sharing, and adherence to team standards.
Project Management: Manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects, prioritizing work effectively and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to meet critical deadlines.

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline automation, with strong SQL skills for data manipulation and querying.
Data Engineering ToolsExperience with ETL tools and workflow orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow, demonstrating ability to build scalable data infrastructure.
Data Warehouse TechnologiesStrong background in data modeling, database design, and implementing large-scale data warehouse solutions.

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or similar backend data development roles, with proven track record of building complex data pipelines.
Data Quality ExperienceProven experience implementing data quality checks and working effectively with large-scale datasets.
