Summary

Mapbox is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the HD Maps team, responsible for developing critical location data layers. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who can drive team performance, manage complex projects, and deliver high-impact solutions that meet customer needs in the location platform ecosystem.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Organize day-to-day work for HD Maps team, develop team members, and drive overall team performance and capabilities

Project Management: Manage complex, high-impact projects with focus on customer needs and business impact

Strategic Planning: Work with Product and Engineering teams to develop long-term business strategy and team objectives

Operational Excellence: Establish, track, and iterate on operational metrics to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction

Technical Mentorship: Provide technical expertise, promote best engineering practices, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration

Cloud InfrastructureDeep knowledge of building scalable web services in AWS

System DesignExperience in designing robust, scalable engineering systems and APIs

Education

Computer Science/EngineeringBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Management Experience5+ years of people management in remote engineering teams

Technical LeadershipProven track record of leading engineering teams to successful product outcomes
