The role

Summary

Mapbox is seeking a Staff Cloud Security Engineer to enhance their Security & Compliance team, focusing on building secure-by-default systems across their global AWS-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will contribute to security reviews, threat detection, and implementing robust security standards while working with a globally distributed team.

What you'll do

AWS Security Reviews: Conduct comprehensive security reviews of Mapbox's AWS environment, validating and ensuring security best practices are followed across container-based deployments in 7 global regions.

Security Improvements: Develop and recommend security enhancement strategies for AWS infrastructure, working closely with production support teams to implement critical security updates.

Application Security: Perform in-depth security code reviews, collaborating with developers to implement secure coding practices and address potential vulnerabilities during development and testing phases.

Threat Detection: Build and maintain scanning and threat detection systems to monitor Mapbox's cloud deployments and digital assets.

Compliance Management: Facilitate bug bounty programs, conduct risk assessments for vendor integrations and product launches, and maintain core security, quality, and privacy standards.

Education
