The role

Summary

Mapbox is seeking a Senior/Lead Software Data Engineer for its Roads Team in Poland, focusing on developing innovative data processing pipelines for global road networks and navigation technologies. The ideal candidate will be a high-performing, creative problem solver with strong distributed computing and cloud skills, capable of enhancing and scaling complex data infrastructure.

What you'll do

Data Pipeline Development: Take ownership of existing data processing pipelines, improve scalability, and iterate on current infrastructure

Pipeline Implementation: Design and implement new data processing pipelines for road network and navigation technologies

Performance Monitoring: Collect and monitor performance metrics to ensure optimal data processing efficiency

Security Implementation: Collaborate on discussing and implementing robust security best practices

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in at least one of: C++, Python, Scala, or Java

Cloud ServicesExperience with AWS services (S3, EC2, IAM, EMR, Glue, Athena, Kinesis) or alternative cloud platforms

Database SkillsAdvanced SQL knowledge and understanding of SQL engine fundamentals
