The role

Summary

Mapbox is seeking a talented Full-stack Software Development Engineer II to join their Data Tooling team in Helsinki, focusing on building and enhancing mapping tools that process millions of data updates and user feedback. The ideal candidate will drive the development of critical services that support Mapbox's mission of creating the most accurate and up-to-date global location platform.

What you'll do

Tool Development: Drive design, development, and testing of Mapbox tools for triaging and applying fixes to customer feedback and third-party data corrections
Service Enhancement: Solve complex workflow problems and implement frontend and backend service enhancements based on business requirements and user feedback
Performance Optimization: Establish and monitor operational metrics to ensure service performance and continuously drive improvements
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for developed services and tools
Collaboration: Work closely with in-house editors to understand workflows and gather insights for service development

Backend DevelopmentExpertise in server-side development using Node.js (Nest.js/Express.js)

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
