The role

Summary

Mapbox is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join their Identity & Authentication team in Helsinki. The role focuses on developing secure identity management solutions, anti-fraud systems, and authentication infrastructure for Mapbox's global platform, working across multiple teams to enhance customer account security and access management.

What you'll do

Identity Management: Develop and maintain secure identity and access management solutions for Mapbox customers

Anti-Fraud Systems: Design and implement anti-fraud and abuse prevention initiatives

Feature Development: Spearhead new feature development for account management, including sign-up, sign-in, and token management

System Design: Create future-proof systems that can scale with Mapbox's rapid growth

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Billing, Security, Platform, and other internal teams to understand and meet authentication infrastructure needs

Operational Excellence: Implement rigorous testing, monitoring, and on-call support for service health

Programming ProficiencyStrong skills in at least one programming language with comprehensive testing practices

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred
