The role

Summary

A Cloud Platform Engineering Internship at Poshmark focused on developing a listing quality evaluation system for the Growth team. Interns will work on full-stack projects involving backend development, machine learning integrations, and data pipeline instrumentation to enhance user acquisition and listing visibility.

What you'll do

Backend API Development: Develop backend APIs using Ruby/JRuby and MongoDB to expose listing quality signals for the Growth platform
Machine Learning Integration: Integrate ML/AI scoring services or prototype lightweight scoring models to evaluate listing quality
Data Pipeline Instrumentation: Build event tracking and data pipeline systems to measure key performance metrics like CTR, conversion, and GMV for externally shared listings
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data analysts, and data scientists to scope and deliver innovative features
Project Documentation: Create technical design documents and deliver final project presentations to showcase internship work

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Ruby, Python, Java, or similar backend languages
System DesignUnderstanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and basic system design principles
Data TechnologiesFamiliarity with MongoDB or similar database technologies

Education

Academic StandingCurrent or rising senior enrolled in an accredited university, or recent college graduate graduating between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027

Experience

Backend DevelopmentHands-on experience building backend or full-stack software features
