The role

Summary

A 10-week Site Reliability Engineering internship at Poshmark's Cloud Operations team, focusing on building automation tools, improving system reliability, and gaining hands-on experience in DevOps and cloud infrastructure for aspiring engineering students passionate about scalable, high-availability systems.

What you'll do

Automation and Operational Excellence: Develop and implement automation tools, scripts, and services to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency over a 10-week project period.
System Monitoring and Observability: Create solutions for monitoring system health, availability, security, and develop improved observability, alerting, and incident response systems.
Deployment and Release Support: Assist in application deployments, testing, and release processes while collaborating with engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimize production performance.
Infrastructure Learning and Collaboration: Learn and apply best practices in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, and cloud infrastructure through hands-on experience and close collaboration with team members.

Programming LanguagesProficiency in one or more scripting languages: Python, Perl, Ruby, or JavaScript
Version ControlExperience with Git or SVN version control systems
Operating SystemsFamiliarity with Linux/Unix environments

Education

Academic BackgroundCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Experience

Problem-Solving SkillsStrong analytical skills with a passion for solving complex problems at scale
Learning AgilityDemonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and infrastructure challenges
