Summary

A Software Engineer I role at Poshmark's Core Platform team focused on developing reliable, high-performance backend cloud-native services for their social commerce marketplace. The ideal candidate will contribute to scalable system design, collaborate across teams, and grow technical expertise in a dynamic, innovative environment.

What you'll do

Backend Service Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting Poshmark's marketplace platform
Collaborative Engineering: Work closely with peers and senior engineers to implement scalable and efficient systems
Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code following industry best practices
System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues across distributed production environments
Process Improvement: Contribute to enhancing development workflows, tooling, and team processes

What we look for

Technical

Backend ProgrammingProficiency in at least one backend language: Ruby, Java, Python, or Go
System ArchitectureUnderstanding of RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, and message-queue systems
Cloud TechnologiesFamiliarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, and scalable architectures

Education

Academic QualificationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

Professional Experience1-2 years of professional software engineering experience, including internships
