Summary

Poshmark is seeking a Software Engineer II for their Core Platform team in Chennai, focusing on developing reliable, high-performance backend systems that power their social commerce marketplace. The ideal candidate will contribute to scalable cloud-native services, working collaboratively to enhance the platform's technical infrastructure.

What you'll do

Backend Service Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting Poshmark's marketplace experience
Collaborative Engineering: Collaborate with peers and senior engineers to implement scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems
Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and well-tested code following best practices
System Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues across distributed production environments
Process Improvement: Contribute to enhancing development processes, tooling, and team workflows

What we look for

Technical

Backend ProgrammingProficiency in at least one backend language (Ruby, Java, Python, or Go)
API and Database KnowledgeExperience with RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, and message-queue systems
Cloud TechnologiesInterest and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP

Education

Academic QualificationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

Professional Experience2-4 years of professional software engineering experience, including internships
