The role

Summary

Poshmark is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps to drive platform improvements, infrastructure reliability, and developer productivity for their engineering teams. The ideal candidate will lead critical initiatives in CI/CD, automation, and observability while mentoring teams and establishing technical standards.

What you'll do

CI/CD Systems Development: Lead design and development of scalable continuous integration and continuous deployment systems to enable efficient and reliable delivery for multiple engineering teams
Infrastructure Optimization: Architect, automate, and optimize non-production infrastructure to improve developer productivity, reliability, and environment consistency
Observability Enhancement: Implement advanced monitoring and observability solutions to reduce Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR) and proactively improve system health
DevEx Improvements: Drive developer experience improvements including remote development environments, build optimizations, and automation workflows
Infrastructure as Code: Champion infrastructure-as-code standards using tools like Terraform and Ansible to ensure repeatable and secure deployments

What we look for

Technical

KubernetesStrong expertise in Kubernetes workload orchestration and cluster-level debugging
CI/CD ToolsProven experience architecting CI/CD systems at scale using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Spinnaker
Automation ToolsHands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools including Terraform, Helm, and Ansible

Education

Computer Science or Related FieldBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

DevOps Experience5-8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
Engineering Tenure7+ years total engineering experience with majority focused on DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering

Skills

Required skills

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Python, Bash, Golang, or Ruby for automation and scripting
Distributed SystemsSolid understanding of distributed systems architecture, monitoring, and operational excellence

Nice to have

Emerging TechnologiesExperience with emerging tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, service mesh, and logging modernization
Cloud PlatformsAdvanced knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multi-cloud deployment strategies
