The role
Summary
Pylon is seeking a Product Software Engineer to build AI-powered features for their B2B post-sales support platform serving 1500+ companies including Linear and Modal Labs. You'll own features end-to-end in a full-stack capacity, collaborate with senior engineers from Samsara, Affinity, Airbnb, and Meta, and have high autonomy to ship fast in an in-person SF environment. The role requires 3+ years of full-stack development experience, strong product sense, startup navigation expertise, and ideally familiarity with React, Golang, GraphQL, and AWS.

Interview process
- 1Initial Screening Call — Introductory conversation with a recruiter to discuss your background, experience, and alignment with Pylon's culture and engineering values. Expect discussion of your startup experience, product sense, and technical foundation.
- 2Technical Phone Screen — Conversation with a senior engineer to assess full-stack technical capabilities, system design thinking, and problem-solving approach. May include discussion of past projects, technical decision-making, and architecture choices.
- 3Take-Home Technical Assignment — Practical coding challenge or project assignment to evaluate your ability to write production-quality code, your development process, and how you approach iterating on feedback. Typically spans 2-4 hours and may involve both frontend and backend components.
- 4Engineering Onsite Interview — Full-day in-person interview at Pylon's San Francisco office with multiple senior engineers from backgrounds at Samsara, Affinity, Airbnb, and Meta. Sessions include technical depth interviews, product sense discussion, architectural problem-solving, and team fit evaluation.
- 5Product and Leadership Alignment — Conversations with product managers and potentially engineering leadership to assess product sense, communication style, ability to work cross-functionally, and cultural fit within Pylon's collaborative environment.
- 6Offer and Reference Checks — Upon successful completion of interview loop, reference checks conducted before final offer extended. Opportunity to discuss compensation, equity, and benefits alignment.
